WHAT TO EXPECT ON A PILATES COURSE WITH FARNHAM PILATES
The advantage of doing a course with Farnham Pilates is that you get a great introduction to an alternative way of exercising that compliments other activities in your busy lives, whilst teaching you to use your body correctly. It can take more than 10 sessions for individuals to understand how to use their “core stability” in a positive way. Once this is understood, this leads to an injury and stress free base to continue our active lives.
Our qualified teachers are friendly and approachable so clients can ask any questions, however basic they seem. Pilates mat sessions can use a variety of body positions – prone, supine, semi-supine, standing, side lying, kneeling or sitting. Stretching is an important aspect of the programme but attention is duly paid to correct alignment and the use of the stabilising muscles. Individuals must apply ‘core control’ throughout the large, resisted movements of the limbs.
